Permeable Pavement Installation at a Preserved Building in Chalkida

ECOVERTI completed a permeable pavement installation in Chalkida, in the courtyard of a preserved building, using KAPPADOM ceramic aggregate for visual harmony and sustainable stormwater management.

Permeable Pavement Installation at a Preserved Building – Chalkida

Chalkida | Completion: 2026

In Chalkida, ECOVERTI undertook the installation of a permeable pavement system in the courtyard of a distinctive preserved building, with the main objective of creating a surface that would blend naturally with the architectural identity of the site while also delivering meaningful environmental benefits.

For this application, ceramic aggregate by KAPPADOM was selected so that the final colour tone and texture of the pavement would match the character of the building and its surrounding space. This material choice played an important role in achieving a result that respects the visual identity of the courtyard without compromising the historic character of the property.

At the same time, the permeable pavement introduces a more sustainable approach to outdoor surface design, allowing rainwater to infiltrate naturally into the ground. In this way, surface runoff is reduced, standing water is limited and groundwater recharge is supported.

This project in Chalkida is a strong example of how a technical surface solution can successfully serve aesthetics, functionality and sustainability at the same time. At ECOVERTI, we design and implement outdoor applications that respect architectural context while delivering long-term value.
